Meet Nicholas Vujicic (pronounced VOO-yee-cheech). Without any medical explanation or warning, Nick was born in 1982 in Melbourne, Australia, without arms and legs. Alicia debuted for the Australian Women’s football team at just 15 years old and went on to make 66 appearances for The Matildas, including two FIFA Women’s World Cups and an Olympic Games. Now a TV producer and presenter based in London, Alicia has created and starred in football broadcasts, branded content, promotional videos and documentaries for Optus Sport, BBC, Channel 4, ESPN, BT Sport and ABC. Tim is a product innovator with 15 years experience designing global footwear and bags for the athletic, action sports, fashion and travel industries. As a footwear and bag designer for Nike, Tim designed signature ranges for Rodger Federer and Kyrie Irving. Tim likes to do things differently. More accurately, he likes the things he creates to BE different. We love the way he thinks.
Vincent is a chemistry Honours student working with Prof Michelle Coote at the Australian National University. Migrated to Australia in 2009 from Vietnam, Vincent first started learning English properly at 15. He went on and achieved the Dux award when graduating high school in 2015. His research focuses on using computer simulations to solve chemical problems and design new reagents that have industrial and biological applications, such as polymerization and protein labelling.
Ivan Zelich is currently completing his Masters in Pure Mathematics at the University of Cambridge. He published his first peer-reviewed paper at the age of 16, and has keenly followed his passion for understanding numbers through geometry. He has given key-note presentations around the world on the importance of creativity in an ever changing yet increasingly automated world.
Shane co-founded InspirationED (previously HSC in the Holidays) with his wife Kathryn in 2004. As a then PDHPE teacher and senior HSC marker, he saw a real need to help students and parents through stressful high-stakes testing events. He thrives on being face-to-face with students and parents helping navigate the final years of high school to make great life and career choices.
Co-founder, Chief Operating Officer Kathryn co-founded InspirationED (previously HSC in the Holidays) with her husband Shane in 2004. In addition to her role as COO, Kathryn is a teacher, a transformational life coach, and mother to four boys. On every level, Kathryn deeply understands the stresses and strains that high-stakes testing events place on children and families making her uniquely capable of creating effective solutions.
All of the speakers you will hear from during the expo are the most qualified, experienced and passionate teachers in their subjects.
B.A; M.Ed; Dip. Ed; MACE Bruce has been teaching History for over 45 years. He is the author or co-author of eleven textbooks, and the recipient of three NSW Premier's History scholarships. A former teacher at Baulkham Hills High School, Bruce has been a member of the NSW History Syllabus writing committee and HSC Modern/Ancient Marking team (including a stint as Supervisor), and is an active member of the HSW History Teachers’ Association. He is currently writing textbooks for Oxford University Press and also lectures at a number of tertiary institutions.
B.Arts/B.Ed Laura has over 18 year experience teaching all levels of Senior English. She has been the Head of English for 7 years and is the current Coordinating Senior Marker for the Common Module - Texts and the Human Experience. She has presented seminars and produced resources for the English Teachers Association. She currently teaches at Barker College.
B.Ed, M.Ed, COGE Shane has been teaching the PDHPE course for over 22 years, including 15 of these as Head Teacher at a number of schools. He also spent 12 years as a HSC Marker, culminating in his appointment as the Coordinating Senior Marker for Sports Medicine. Shane has been presenting with InspirationED since 2004.
Sc, Dip. Ed, Grad Dip. M.Ed (completing) Andrew has over 25 year experience teaching Chemistry. He has been an HSC marker for 15 years as well as 6 years as a senior HSC marker. Andrew is also a member of the CSSA Chemistry Exam Committee. Andrew has been with InspirationED since 2014.

BSc PhD GradDipEd. Andrew has over 20 years experience as a Chemistry teacher and is currently the Science Coordinator at Wollondilly Anglican College, Tahmoor. He has been a writer for the Catholic Trial Chemistry paper.
M.Ed, B.Ed Andrew is currently Head of English at Oakhill College. He has held Senior HSC Marker position s in all English Advanced modules and has spent almost 20 years as a marker. Andrew has been presenting with InspirationED since 2014 and is acknowledged as an expert in his subject field.
