Secrets to HSC success

FAQs

How long does the day go for?

The day is broken into four sessions. The first session starts at 9:30am (9:00am registration) and then the fourth session finishes at 1:20pm. There will be two twenty minute breaks across the day.

Where are the sessions being held?

ACE the HSC is held at The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) in Ultimo on Sunday 10 November and Macquarie University in North Ryde on Sunday 17 November. Exact venues are to be confirmed.

How do I get to the venue?

After you have registered your ticket, we will email you detailed instructions on how to get to each venue. Unfortunately, we cannot provide parking at the universities so strongly recommend using public transport to our venues as parking in these areas is limited and expensive.

Does one ticket include both student and parent, or do I need to book two tickets?

One ticket covers both one student and up to two parents.

Do I have to pay for anything?

ACE the HSC is 100% free. There will be no surprise costs on the day, but you just have to make sure to register beforehand as seats are limited.

Is ACE the HSC only for year 11 students and parents?

The content covered across the day is suitable for students who are about to enter year 11 or 12, and so is also appropriate for year 10 students and their parents. Students in year 9 or below are welcome to attend, but the day will be less insightful as these students are further away from the HSC.

If I register my ticket, do I have to come to every session?

You are welcome to come and go to sessions throughout the day as you like. We recommend attending the full day as presenters may refer to previous content.

How will English and Mathematics be presented?

Students will be separated for HSC Mathematics to hear from a presenter for either Advanced Mathematics or Standard Mathematics (depending on what they study).

Students will all receive the same HSC English lecture as this is targeted towards the common English module Texts and Human Experiences.

While the Mathematics and English lectures are on, parents will hear from a qualified counsellor on tips for supporting HSC students.

What if I don’t know anyone?

Our team and our presenters are well experienced in making our sessions a welcoming and friendly environment. Once you’re in your session, your presenter will establish a relaxed and collaborative atmosphere to make sure you get the most out of your day.

If you’re really worried about coming alone, consider asking a classmate to come along with you.

5 Secrets to HSC Success

What our students have to say

  • "The program enabled me to enhance my studies by providing me with extra skills and resources that allowed me to have an deeper understanding of the concepts I was learning about. Through this, I was able to have an upper hand over my peers because they showed me the expected requirements and ways in which I needed to achieve a Band 6. The program is what obtained by result and I would strongly encourage students to participate in this program."
Victoria | Marist Sisters College, Woolwich | ATAR: 90.10
  • "The InspirED program was the best thing I did and helped me increase my marks dramatically. Thank you so much!"
    Lucy | Kincoppal Rose Bay

    Luke | CBHS Lewisham | ATAR: 86.10
  • "I really enjoyed the program - the revision lectures were really engaging and covered the content in concise detail.  I also found the printed revision guides extremely helpful throughout my studying process.  As well as gaining more knowledge on each subject, I also greatly appreciated the useful study tips and tricks from the lecturers that school teachers hadn't told us. These revisions definitely helped me achieve the ATAR I got. Thank you."
Oceane | Freshwater Senior Campus (Northern Beaches) | ATAR: 94.95
  • "The InspirED program enabled me to gain a greater insight into what is expected when answering specific styles of questions in the HSC, and the ways in which we can apply our knowledge to the exam question.  I gained access to booklets and exam questions and insight from HSC markers and teachers.  This, I feel gave me an extra boost of encouragement and confidence.  The lecturers interacted with individuals allowing us to learn effective study techniques to utilise when answering exam questions. I feel the lectures had a significant impact on my subject marks and ATAR, and overall HSC experience.”
Ashleigh | Newtown High School of the Performing Arts | ATAR: 90.50
  • "I found the InspirED program to be incredibly helpful in boosting my potential throughout the HSC. They assisted in clarifying information which I may have been unsure of and provided additional material to set me apart in my exams, ultimately improving my marks and ability to express myself in the HSC!  I would highly recommend this program to all HSC students looking to achieve their full potential or looking for some extra clarification before their exams."
